Magento Settings, Products and Categories can store field values for every Website and/or Store View (language) separately. Good example would be name of a product where the same field “Name” will have different values depending on the selected Store View in “Store View Selector”.
On Settings, Product and Category pages in Magento Admin “Store View Selector” is situated in the top left section of the screen:
Make sure you select proper Store View (language) or Website when editing information!
