At the time of writing of this article TT11 uses a structure with two Erply Instances: Narva and France which are used for sales and product management respectively on .COM website and .FR website.
Narva Erply [instance id: 383325]
This Erply is a primary system and is responsible for:
- managing existing and creating new products in full including product additional parameters like: rubber size, handle type, cold sensitivity, pimple type and so on…
- issuing SKUs (stock keeping units) or product codes
- handling sales from .COM website
- managing .COM website customers
French Erply [instance id: 348023]
This Erply is a secondary or slave system, that depends on information initially created and transferred to Magento from Narva Erply. French Erply is responsible for:
- supplying products imported from Narva Erply via Magento with French translations
- handling sales from .FR website
- managing .FR website customers
[alert]By design it is forbidden to create new product records in any system except Narva Erply.[/alert]
All communication between Narva Erply and French Erply is done via Magento Erply module and completely depends on it. For example: for a new product to appear in French Erply it first needs to be created in Narva Erply, then to be imported to Magento and only then this product will be created in French Erply based on it’s data in Magento. This structure is in place to maintain proper connections between product records in all systems, so that a product record in Magento is always linked to a corresponding product in Narva Erply as well as in French Erply.
