Use this feature if you would like to notify website visitors about anything important, like holidays, maintenance, inventorisation or any other similar occasion. You can only show one notification at a time. It is not possible to schedule multiple notifications, however it is possible to set start and end dates for notification to start showing and stop showing automatically. Notification can be configured on this page under “Notification” tab.
Notification Settings
Notification Enabled – defines if this feature should be used or not, but even if enabled, start/end dates will also influence visibility
Notification Bar Identifier – used for naming a cookie to remember visitor’s choice to close notification
Notification Content – actual text of the message. You can use HTML markup here and also Magento CMS Tags, like {{config path=”general/store_information/phone”}} to show Contact Phone number configured in Magento Admin
Start Date – date when notification will start showing. It will start exactly 00 hours 00 seconds on given date.
End Date – date when notification will stop showing. It will stop exactly 23 hours 59 minutes 59seconds.
Allow Notification to be Closed – whether notification should be closable. If it’s very important and should be visible on every page all the time, then select NO
